The MediaDock LVD is Avid's removable LVD (Low Voltage Differential) drive solution providing speed, capacity, scalability and reliability. Designed exclusively for digital media customers, the Avid MediaDock LVD system is made up of two components: the rugged 8-bay MediaDock LVD chassis and removable MediaDock LVD shuttle drives, which are available in a range of capacities. MediaDock LVD is forward looking, designed and architected to support future enhancements in the storage industry, like faster LVD disk drives and faster SCSI interfaces.

MediaDock LVD Features

• Holds up to 8 shuttles

• Shuttles currently available in 18GB, 36 GB, 73 GB, and 146 GB capacities

• Uses latest generation 10,000 rpm drive technology

• Data transfer rates up to 320 MB/sec per channel with Ultra320 bus, up to 160 MB/sec per channel with Ultra 160 LVD host adapter; up to 80 MB/sec with Ultra2 LVD host adapter

• With the sixth generation 10,000 rpm drives and an Ultra320 bus or an Ultra160 or UL2D LVD controller, two streams of uncompressed SD can be achieved with a 2-way stripe on one channel. Two streams of any compressed resolution (including 2:1) can be achieved on a single drive.

• On-screen drive status monitoring via MediaDock LVD Manager software (included)

• Rackmount (3U) and deskside tower configurations

• Extra-long cable lengths available for remote placement of chassis (30 feet)

MediaDock Shuttles are removable SCSI drives designed for seamless interchange with other Pro Tools and Avid editing workstations. Designed, tested and optimized for use with audio and video, they are available in both 36, 73 & 180 GB capacities.
